The Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery
located on Civic Center Drive in Augusta
was the first state Veterans Cemetery to
open in Maine. It was established in 1970. It
is a beautiful place for family and friends to
visit their loved ones that have passed.
Both the CCd and Mt. Vernon Road front
gates are open 24 hours a day. Except in the
winter the gates are closed at night if there is
a snow storm coming.
The Back Gates are closed nights and
weekends.
The Veterans Memorial Cemetery Association is
excepting Donations to purchase a large Battle
field Cross. The total cost is $30,000.00
installed.If you would like to make a donation.
Send the donation to: Veterans Memorial
Cemetery Association, PO Box 942, Augusta,
ME 04332. Add a note requestion the donation
to be for the Battle Field Cross.
