Thomas Lussier, state commander for 2006-07, had the Maine Veterans Cemeteries in Caribou, Augusta and Springvale as his personal project this past year and raised more than $6,601.50 to be split three ways. From the left are Mike Clark, treasurer of the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Association in Augusta receiving a check from Arthur J. Roy, past chairman for the association and chairman for the State Veterans of Foreign Wars, in the amount of $2,250. The association uses all donations for the beautification of the veterans cemeteries on Civic Center Drive and Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta. Anyone wishing to make a donation may contact Arthur Roy at 784-6883 or ajrvfw@verizon.net.

We want to Thank the American Legion Post 5 and Thomas Lussier from the Veterans of Foreign Wars for the money they donated this year. They have made it possible for us to pave the walkway at the Mt. Vernon Rd Cemetery this year. The project will not be finished until spring of 2008. It will make it possible for people in wheelchairs to stroll through the walkway with ease.
We want to Thank all the people that have made donations this year. Which made it possible to put the names on the walls at Civic Center Drive and Mt Vernon Road Cemeteries.
